Wuerth Baier & Michels (Shanghai) Automotive Fastener Co. Ltd.
About us
The globally focused b&m Group, with its headquarters in Ober-Ramstadt in southern Hesse, has built up a strong position as an innovative partner to the manufacturing industry in the field of cold forming. The basis for this is provided by high-quality fasteners as well as closing and sealing systems from our own development and production. Our customers include OEMs and suppliers from the automotive, electrical and medical technology sectors.
b&m reliably supports them not only as a producer, but also as a problem solver: Besides technical application advice and connection tests in our laboratories, we also provide specialist training and a unique standardization tool that industrial companies can use to massively reduce the variety of their C-parts. Our employees around the world are the most valuable asset for us. With their expertise and experience, we provide support for all kinds of customer requirements in many areas.

b&m-KL-PLUG®
In various areas and applications of the industry, from gearboxes and pumps to engine blocks, coolant and lubricant circuits or process-related bore holes are required to ensure the function of the component. These circuits have to be closed or sealed.
b&m-PLAST®
New applications mean an increasing significance for the use of plastics. The resulting advantages are located in the area of weight reduction, increased chemical resistance and simplified recycling of the components, for example through the possible replacement of metal inserts.
The economical fitting possibilities and ability to disconnect direct screwing connections made into plastics create cost savings in comparison to other joining techniques. In contrast to previous applications (with a flank angle of 60°), b&m thread geometries have a flank angle value of 30° / 25° and reduce radial tension.
This achieves optimal filling of the thread root, whilst enabling material-saving dimensioning of the screw-in tube. The design of thin wall thicknesses enables a weight- and cost-optimized connection. Greater coverage between the thread flanks and the material increases process safety.
b&m-FORM®
he principle of non-cutting forming used here produces a thread with high load-bearing capacity due to the uninterrupted grain flow and strain-hardening of the material. Additional screw locking (e.g. to DIN 267-27/28) is therefore unnecessary.
The generated thread is a metric ISO thread, which is compatible with standard parts. Furthermore, the threads formed in this way are free of play and are self-locking. Thread-forming screws can be used in all ductile, i.e. plastically deformable materials.
b&m-HIGHLOAD®
Our b&m-HIGHLOAD® thread-forming screw is primarily used in multi-material construction. The screw suitable for highly stressed component joints, be they in high-strength steels or in low-strength aluminum alloys. A screw connection with the b&m-HIGHLOAD® is self-locking and free of play. If required, the threads produced are compatible with metric ISO standard parts.
