The globally focused b&m Group, has built up a strong position as an innovative partner in the field of cold forming, high-quality fasteners as well as closing and sealing systems.
The globally focused b&m Group, with its headquarters in Ober-Ramstadt in southern Hesse, has built up a strong position as an innovative partner to the manufacturing industry in the field of cold forming.
The basis for this is provided by high-quality fasteners as well as closing and sealing systems from our own development and production. Our customers include OEMs and suppliers from the automotive, electrical and medical technology sectors.
baier & michels reliably supports them not only as a producer, but also as a problem solver: Besides technical application advice and connection tests in our laboratories, we also provide specialist training and a unique standardization tool that industrial companies can use to massively reduce the variety of their C-parts.
Our 500 employees are our most valuable asset. With their know-how and experience, we are always able to meet the highest demands of our customers. You can count on it!

Direct screwing system with integrated sealing function for aluminum-steel hybrid applications.
In contrast to „trilobular“ screws, the b&m-TIGHT® is designed with a circular cross-section affecting the entire threaded area. The forming zone is also provided with fully and sharply pointed thread flanks.
The b&m-KL PLUG® is a one-piece and universally applicable closing and sealing element for holes with and without pressure load. Due to the different materials and diameter ranges, it can be adapted to different customer applications and can seal up to 30 bar operating pressure. The element offers simple and efficient assembly without waste generation and also offers a number of other advantages over conventional closing and sealing systems for holes.
The b&m-TRIMNUT® turns the thread-forming principle upside down. In this case, it is not the screw but the nut that is both the fastener and the thread-forming tool. Designed to remove weld spatter on welding studs or coating residues, the b&m-TRIMNUT® is also capable of forming a thread in conjunction with a corresponding bolt geometry.
Screws are the most important fasteners in automotive engineering. Experts estimate that there are 250 safety-related screw connections in a modern vehicle alone. In addition, there are countless other screw connections for the assembly of other vehicle components. Alternative joining methods such as gluing have not been able to change the still high value of screw connections in vehicle construction. On the contrary, due to the unique selling point of being easy to reverse, screw connections are even gaining new importance when considering CO2 emissions and energy requirements over the product life cycle “from production to recycling”.
However, conventional directly threaded connections in the automotive sector are increasingly reaching their limits. baier & michels has therefore moved away from the standard concept of trilobular direct screwing and, in cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz Group, has developed a new, groundbreaking screw geometry with a circular thread cross-section for direct screwing systems. Thanks to the load-bearing flank overlap along the entire circumference, the new approach enables a particularly high transmission of force compared to conventional direct screwing systems. In addition, the concept offers an enhanced sealing effect, low risk of corrosion, process reliability during screw installation as well as a low installation torque and at the same time high failure torque. The system is already being used successfully in several Mercedes-Benz series, including the C, E, G and S classes.
